Skittles are chewy, fruit flavored delicacies which are produced and marketed by Mars, Incorporated. They were first made by and English company in 1974 They were first introduced in North America in 1979 as an import candy. In 1982, domestic production of Skittles began in the United States. It is mostly made of mainly sugar and hydrogenated vegetable oil along with fruit juice, citric acid and natural and artificial flavors. Skittles also contain gelatin, if you do not know what gelatin is, here is the meaning:
Gelatin is a protein produced by partial hydrolysis of collagen extracted from the bones, connective tissues organs, and some intestines of animals such as domesticated cattle, pigs, and horses. A translucent, colourless, brittle, nearly tasteless solid substance, derived from the collagen inside animals' skin and bones.
