| Maybe someone outta read the description? Not my loss..
K, so this may not be consitered a full review. Dont really care...
(this is windows OS's btw.)
I'll start with the oldest..xp.
Windows xp comes in 3 types, home basic, home edition, and professional. All being nearly exact alike, there isnt much to do for all 3. But, I will. So here ja go.
Home Basic: Very old type of windows xp, with a classic look, and a lot of lagginess. This is the overall basic of the windows that is still sold on computers made nowadays. Mostly used in family houses, xp HB is all about the firewall. Coming with one that can be used to block virtuarly anything, it is good for an un-password protected computer with a lot of kids in the house. Also having features used to make your own pictures, websites, and music, windows xp HB is good for any computer.
Home Edition: Being nearly exact to home basic, windows xp Home Edition is still being used in computers nowadays. Xp home edition is good for a computer that is used by a large amount of people. Has a newer look and is more stable than most OS's, this can be used on any computer, weak or strong.
Professional: Exactly the same as Home Edition, even in factory defalt looks! Only thing thats different is that on start up, 2 box's come up saying "Login" and "Password," other than the other 2 versons, only saying the account usernames. Can hold up to 50,000 logins in its database.
Going on to something a bit more recent...windows Vista.
Windows vista is a somewhat old OS, made by windows..duh.. Has 3 types, Home Premium, Proffesional, and Ultimate. Not going to review all 3 like I did on xp, just gonna put it all-in-one.
Windows Vista was an OS created in 2005. Not a good one, but is honestly better than nothing. When most OS's came out, people with even the slightest bit of knowlage would expect it to be alot better than the last one...this changing points when vista came out. Vista is a laggy, heavyweight OS that has a lot less memory than most. Reviewers gave vista a 3.5 compaired to linux, which was given 3. Both out of 5, btw. Vista is sold on a lot of low-selling computers, mostly toshiba or more unknown companys. If you do know someone who would actually want vista on there computer, please take away there drugs. Or atleast bullet some sense into them. Your choise, I dont know anyone like that. :S
Well...lastly, we'll go with 7. Also coming in 3 versons, exactly the same names of vista's (stealers), I will not have patience to review every version. =P
Windows 7 recently came out, coming out in June of this year! :O! Windows 7 is a very good OS, having upgraded many windows regular settings, including Paint, Notepad, and Ease of Access. Windows 7 could also cause you some problems, mostly with the graphic chip and the internet, both will often malfunction. Windows 7 also is only good with a strong computer. Putting it on a 300 dollar desktop tower will cause it to remove most of its programs and make it a generic vista. But...my aunt recently got a 1,200 dell computer, before rebates and the monetor, that had vista and she upgraded to 7. Ofcourse something that is origionaly priced at 1,200 dollars is gonna be durible. Dont doubt it. And so, if its strong, its 7. Remember that saying for the rest of your life.
Let me do something last. I timed each factory setting computer, one with xp, one with vista, and one with 7, to see how long boot up was. 7 was the fastest, xp being in 2nd, and vista being the slowest by nearly 10 seconds. lol.
Well...this is the end. Didn't see my ratings? Because there wasn't any, silly.
xp: 3.5/5 Vista: 1.5/5 7: 4/5 |

| Don't listen to his vista review, vista is great, if vista was laggy, it's just your comp. |

| Vista is only great if it's all you have. I wouldn't prefer it, though. |

| Vista is pretty good, but not incredible.
They use it at my school.
It is much better than previous versions, but still has some flaws.
Me and my friends know how to hack into the system and create administrator accounts at our school and do whatever we want. :) |

True that. Sorry for bumping, but I never read this thread before and I give my opinion : Windows Vista - 4.5/5 Windows XP - 3.5/5 Windows 7 - I've never tried it but at my dad's work they use it, and he says it's only a simpler version of XP :\ |

| You know not to bump. Verbal warning. Notice how I give a verbal before an actual warning, unlike someone awhile ago. |

Windows Vista - 4.5/5 Windows XP - 3.5/5 Windows 7 - I've never tried it but at my dad's work they use it, and he says it's only a simpler version of XP :\ Dude, Vista is heavyweight, and xp is lightweight, the heavyweight makes it have more problems on a weaker computer, which is what most people have. Windows xp also allows window and taskbar colors, more quicklaunch options, and better wifi on a laptop, or netbook ofc. Win. xp also is good for any computer. Plus, can be legaly upgraded for free, to a better verson, as for vista costing a hellload of money for a simple upgrade. The only thing I like better from vista to xp is that vista has, in the start menu, the quick-search. But, for using that, you're often to get another type of keylog, causing EVEN more problems. Vista on a computer also can cost more, xp is wayy cheaper, and is way better. Overall, xp is a lightweight vista with 1/5 of the problems and more personalization. This makes xp better. |
