Basic Information About The Band
JET is an Australian rock band that was formed in 2001 in the town of Melbourne Victoria. As I just said the band was formed in 2001 and even though they may not be well known around the world, they are very popular around Australia.
The band members for JET are

Nic Celester - Vocals, rythem guitar and piano.
Cameron Muncey - Lead Guitar and backing vocals.
Mark Wilson - Bass guitar, keyboards and harmonica.
Chris Celester - Drums, backing vocals and guitar.

They released there debut Album "Get Born" in 2003 which included hit songs such as "Are You Going To Be My Girl", "Cold Hard Bitch", "Look What You've Done" and "Rollover DJ". The album it sold around 3.5 million copies around the world. There second album was released in 2006 and is called "Shine On". Popular songs on the album are "Shine On", "Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is" and "Bring It On Back". After the Shine On tour the band stated that they would begin their 3rd studio album but they would first take a break.

Shaka Rock (The thing I am reviewing):
After JET's "break" they began working on Shaka Rock in 2008 and was predicted that it would be released in late 2008, but it took until August 19 2009 to realese it in Japan. JET wanted to prove that "Rock and Roll" wasn't all about Sex, Drugs and Booze. They said that Rock Roll had 4 basic elements, Bass, drums, vocals and guitars and they proved this on the Album Shaka Rock. On June 22nd the song "She's A Genius" was played on radio's worldwide and was available to download for free on the internet on the very same day. This has been proven to be one of their most popular songs from all 3 albums. That song was written to show their appreciation towards women and hoping it would give new meaning to the phrase.

Singles Off "Shaka Rock":
The first single that came from the album was "She's A Genius" which was available for download on June 22nd 2009. This song became popular and was a great start for the band's new album. Their second single was "Black Hearts(On Fire)" and their third (and probably final) single was "Seventen" which was released earlier this year.

Charts And Ratings:
Shaka Rock reached #5 on the Australian ARIA music charts, it made the UK Top 75 albums at #53 and it was #27 on the Billboard 200.
The strange thing about this review is that it has had some mixed reviews from different sources. Examples are that Rolling Stone magazine rated it 2 out of 5, while the New York Post and Time Out Sydney rated it 4 out of 5. The average rating of Shaka Rock is 3.2 out of 5, which is not bad, but it could be a lot better.

Pros:
The pros for this album are.
- It has sold millions of copies (exact number is not known yet.)
- The album has very popular songs.
- The album contains 12 songs which is good value for $25 (Australian)
- The songs have great guitar riffs.
- Great lyrics.
- Good mix of rock and soft rock.

Cons:
The cons for this album are.
- It is has some some tracks that are always skipped.
- Not like their old music.
- The good songs are overshadowed by the bad songs.
- Famous music reviewers are not giving great reviews about this.

I have bought this album a few days ago and I am loving it, but it is not 100% perfect, that is why I gave it a 4 out of 5 rating.
