Metroid Other M is the newest Metroid game in the series, it is the 11th game out on the series, and it is only available for the wii. It was available in North America on the 31st August, 2010. Metroid Other M shows Samus fighting Mother Brain in Super Metroid and defeating it. After espacing Planet Zebes, she gets a distress signal called the "baby's cry." The new main point in this game is that it shows Samus past and that she finally gets to speak. The gameplay in this game switches from first person to third person in person perspectives. The game is normally played in third person, you control by holding the wii remote horizontally, you can jump, shoot fireballs or turn into a morph ball. The third person gameplay is the same as the other Metroid games, however, when pointing the wii remote at the screen, you can play at first person and fire missiles or lock on targets. Other M has a new system called a Melee combat system where you can do well-timed button presses or you could use Sense move (which you can use to dodge enemies.) The game is set in the Galactic Federation Bottle Ship, mostly in the vessel interior, there are other environments which include a Biosphere and in a rainforest. The other place's are the Cryosphere, a sub-zero biome, the Pyrosphere and a volcanic area with temperatures that require the Varia Feature to survive. When you finish, you can unlock a special 2 hour feature where you can watch every cut scene (divided into chapters.) The game is set place between Super Metroid and Metroid Fusion. The game has been given average reception, IGN said 8.5/10 giving it a 'Editor's Choice' award, while Game Informer gave it a 6.25/10 critizing the long cutscenes and switching to first mode. Overall this is an okay game which has good cut scenes and a huge adventure ahead of you!

+ Gripping storyline where Samus speaks
+ Great controls
+ First person switch is good...
- But only if you don't have alot of enemies on your back
- Cut scenes maybe a bit long
