| I don't know how many of you guys remember my first knee surgery back in March of 2009. I was on MYNK a lot at that point. Well, I injured the same knee again.
What happened the first time, for anyone who doesn't know, I tore my lateral meniscus. Lateral means on the outside of your knee. Well, I had surgery to repair it, and the doctor had to take a part of it out. So, at this point, I have 90% of a meniscus.
Well, the issue is the meniscus stretches the entire width of the knee. If you want details, look up an anatomical diagram of the knee.
In short, I fell off my bike about 2 months ago and bruised the medial (inside) part of my knee real bad. The pain cleared up, but then after kneeling down on Wednesday night, it got really bad. I had a doctor's appointment today and they took an X-Ray. It came back negative, so the doctor ordered an MRI. I have it on Monday evening, so I will know what the injury is then. I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday, I will know everything then.
So, there you go. My life the past 48 hours. |

| That's unfortunate. What activities (besides biking of course) have you been missing? |

| Counting my sinus infection last week, I haven't biked in 12 days, bowled in 2 weeks (counting tomorrow) and I missed two straight mornings of school. BUt at least it leaves a lot of time for here.
I will be going camping though. I do have a knee brace I can wear, so barring a ligament tear, I'm shooting them goddamned squirrels. |

| I've been joking all day that I need to have my right knee amputated at the end of the thigh. Which I shouldn't joke about because my Uncle had just that done, and it wasn't fun. |

| Well, all I know is we don't have to pay a lot for these surgeries. In any case, I will know a lot more about my problem tomorrow at this time, including whether or not I will need surgery. Whether or not I need surgery, I will be on a lot more this upcoming weekend.
Update: Went to the doctor, he injected cortisone into my knee based on what the MRI found (nothing structurally wrong). It's called plica syndrome. It's a fairly common thing, and may be caused by my bicycling too much in too hard of a gear. Here's a link to the about.com page about the syndrome: (And no, it's not a long article and isn't full of scientific shit. I wouldn't torture you with that.)

If this shot works, I may be able to go camping this weekend after all, which means I wouldn't be on pretty much at all through the weekend. But, if it doesn't work and I don't have substantial improvement in the next 12-24 hours, I won't be going anywhere except back and forth from my bedroom to my couch the entire weekend, resting and icing the knee as needed. I will know if I an go camping tomorrow morning when I attempt to walk on it. If I don't post at all on Thursday evening, know I won't be on all weekend. I will post the Week 6 predictions right now so you guys have them. I would be back in time on Sunday to take care of them, so no worries there.
Once again, I'll know more tomorrow morning.
