Actually they have long theorized particles capable of moving past light speed.
What the light barrier really means is that if something comes into existance under the speed of light, it can never move faster than it, and if something comes into existance faster than the speed of light, it can never move slower than it.
The only exception to this rule is space itself, who/which is such a pimp he/she/it just tells light to go f itself/himself/herself.
Also the results are inconclusive and the scientist who actually did the test believe they made an error somewhere, and are simply having issues finding what they did wrong.
