| 4:35: Slowly approach wooded corner of property by crossing a stream and walking across a meadow.
4:40-4:55: Stop and go. Walk 10 feet, stop. Wait a minute. Walk 10 feet, stop, wait a minute, repeat. Did this for about 50 yards, slowly approaching wooded area.
4:45: Squirrel- like movement noticed in tree approximately 60 yards away.
4:58: Squirrel- like movement noticed again in same tree now 5 yards away, very tall oak, gun raised, no shot fired.
5:00: Squirrel appears, one shot fired. Missed. Reload bottom barrel (over-under shotgun)
5:01: Dad moves to other side of tree.
5:03:15 Dad jumps rabbit, fires two shots, misses. Reloads.
5:03:25 Squirrel appears again, my gun raised, no shot.
5:04:10 Rabbit jumps again, dad fires two shots, both missed. Reload.
5:04:30 Squirrel appears, I fire one shot, missed, squirrel jumps from one branch to another about 50 feet up, lands, I fire a second shot, squirrel falls down tree. Dead before he hit the ground.
A non-typical Tuesday afternoon for me. But fun. Last hunt until September 1.

| What, the one you still have nightmares over? I've got better ones than that now. More than one bushy tail. I've got one with 5 doves, all shot by yours truly using only 12 shells (sounds bad, on doves it takes an average of about 10 SHELLS per bird. So I was quite "on" that day at 2.4 shells per bird.) |
