What's your opinion on it? Kinda like Cy and weed, I can pretty much shoot down (pun not intended) any argument for gun control that you have.

They're okay. But not in the ways a lot of people use them. ie: murdering animals.

Explain what you mean after you read this: The legal definition of murder is this:

-"the unlawful killing of another human being without justification or excuse"

So there's no way it can be "murder" as you portray it to be, at least legally. And unlawful? I have a license to hunt small game, migratory birds and ducks.

There's nothing wrong with hunting other animals if you plan on eating them. We are the dominant species of the earth and being such we can exercise that power however we wish. Tell me why its wrong for us to hunt a deer, but it's okay for a lion? Now killing animals just for the sport and not selling/eating the meat is a different story, but saying that all hunting in general is wrong is basically saying that all humans are obligated to become vegetarians.

In other words, I didn't rise to the top of the food chain to eat the same things as a rabbit.

And everything we hunt we eat, or we give it to someone else who we know will.

I wasn't saying we'd be able to realize it. But you gotta face the facts: the incidents where a lone wolf for example shoots a couple of people are a lot lower in Europe (excluding Germany and Finland where laws on guns are less strict).

That's true, but since it's unfeasible for any other country with a population over a couple million, it's not worth talking about.

I am serious. And I get you, in that way. But, making guns illegal, and putting strict laws on them, would help stopping a lot of this incidents. It's different than making, for example, drugs illegal.

I know, and I thank you mightily for that. I was referring to YEM.

And I do see where you're coming from, I do. And I agree, it would work. But why take a gun away from a citizen who knows how to safely operate it to defend him/herself and his/her friends and family? And other than criminals, we also have to worry about government. We all know how Hitler got the Germans under his control: he took the guns away from the citizens. Gave them nothing to fight him with.

Most Germans supported him and didn't know about his antisemitism until around 1936. You gotta admit he did a fairly good job until his racial arrests. But, anyway, the thing is: you give people power by giving them guns, and of course, most people can handle that kind of power, but also a great deal can't. And that part of the population is potentially dangerous. Besides that, we also know how civil wars in many African countries started: local tribes got in hands of guns. I know this isn't in any way related to the situation in America, but neither is the Nazi-argument you were giving.

Yeah, you've got a point on both ends. Considering we're from different countries with totally different laws we seem so far to be pretty agreeable on this. Anybody else wanna say anything?
