You all know my penchant for medical issues. Well, here's another one for you.
I'll try to not make this tl;dr material, I apologize if I start rambling.
Let's back up to about the middle of March. I'll make this into a timeline to make it easier to read.
-Mid-March: While in league bowling, I felt something tug in my elbow. No pain, just a tug. Didn't think much of it at the time.
-End of March/early April: Woke up one morning with mild pain in my elbow. Didn't think anything of it at the time, thought perhaps I had slept on it funny. I do that a lot. It was a Saturday, so I bowled in league as normal. As league went on, the pain got worse and worse. I barely finished league.
-Early to Mid April: Put my elbow in a sling to rest it, hoped it was just stress and a couple weeks of rest would help. It didn't.
-Mid April: Went to the orthopedic doctor, he ordered an MRI. Got it, came back clean with perhaps some fluid. No big deal. He gave me a cortisone injection in the painful area. It helped, and I was pain free for 4 months.
That's where we get to the here and now of the story.
A couple days ago my elbow started acting up again after I bowled. Different area of the elbow though, the first time the pain was on the top, this time the pain was on the bottom part. So we went to the doc again, he does all these tests in the office. This time it's not just my elbow.
He suspects there's something wrong with my spine and shoulder nerves that is causing my elbow pain. He gave me an anti-inflammatory to see if it would help. If it doesn't...I'm probably looking at an MRI. Depending on what that shows...I could be in for some serious spinal surgery.
All I'm asking for is prayers. We don't know much at this point, I just hope the anti-inflammatory helps and I can take my license test on Wednesday. If not...who knows what'll happen.
