On September 2nd 2008 the all powerful search "Google" created a simplistic web browser called "Google Chrome". Google Chrome expanded widely is a very controversial debate topic. The success of Chrome grew with Google and now has over thirty million users in almost a three year run. They are widely acknowledged and very well guarded because Google is a multi billion company. In this review, some pros and cons about Google Chrome will be brought up and discussed and in the end the pros will highly overpower the cons in a 4.5 star rating out of five.
Pros:
Google Chrome is a fast browser equipped with a Webkit layout made for simplicity. It is very easy to navigate and offers the simplest and cleanest of options that get the job done for the regular public. One out of the many things that makes Chrome stand out is the upper tab layout. EI, Firefox and Opera alike have their tabs on the bottom. Further more all three of those web browsers will seem heavily crowded after using Chrome for a week. With Chrome you get twenty percent more screen space and a look that offers only pure cleanness making other browsers look cluttered and dirty. For some reason it is still isn't very well known and from the 3 percent users of browsers it has only risen to 13 percent. Although not many people use Chrome it becomes a plus for you because it less viable to have XML viruses and browser based scripts that cause theft. Chrome also has an extension feature that allows you to download Chrome approved safe extensions made my real time users and big time companies. The extensions is one of the things that no other web browsing company can match to in terms of Chrome. With extensions you can open yourself to a world of items that will make browsing a better experience on a level that you cannot reach with anything else! Extensions offer you the capability to:
- IM with friends
- Check your Facebook, Myspace and Twitter
- Use hand gestures to access a different page
- Have a text recovery field in case of crash
- Have multiple Ad Blocks for maximum coverage
- Have a system that detects malware in sites you go on.
- etc
Google Chrome is also very helpful for those coders because it allows you to see the full HTML of a certain website and when you scroll over an HTML body it highlights it on the actual page.
Cons: Good thing is Google Chrome is not well known for them. Bad thing is, that doesn't mean they don't have anyway. Google Chrome is fairly new compared to the other browsers and is not in check with all the CSS, HTML and other coding languages quite yet. For example on forumotion forums you are incapable of seeing the a/A feature which is a great help when writing reviews....Like this one. As well as this there is no intergration with OS, so there is no speech recognition with Vista and there is a bit of Hard disk activity. People do not lay much trust in Google and The terms of Service discourage some people because of tracking rights and it's known that the German government warned people against using Chrome. In the past GIF's were jerky but are fixed up to this point.
