Sorry Sk10, I fell asleep writing this review yesterday. Anyways, I felt that yours was mainly about history, statistics, and facts, so im gonna focus mine on what it means to be a user. Anyways, here it is:

Youtube

YouTube is a video sharing website. Unregistered users can watch the videos, while registered users are allowed to upload an unlimited number of videos. Users can also comment on other peoples videos, friend other users, and favorite other users. The difference between friending and favoring a user is that if you favorite one, you automatically get a section on the homepage where you cans see their latest videos. Also, users can private message with other users, create video playlists, and post video responses.

Another advantage of being a user is that you get to create your own channel, which is like a profile page. When you join, you share your hobbies, favorite music, books, shows, movies, and books, and and other information that shows up on your channel with your join date and last sign in. It has a counter that shows your number of friends, subscribers, channel views, and upload views. On it, you can show your videos, playlists, favored videos, friends, subscribers, recent activity, and allow other users to post on your page. The page is completely customizable to fit your personality. You can change the themes and colors, the background, what is in it, and how it all looks.

Now, there are many different kinds of accounts that you can make. These types are Youtuber, Director, Musician, Comedian, Guru, and Reporter. They are made to fit different kinds of users, and specialize in different areas. As far as videos go, there is a 10 minute length, 2 GB file size limit. To have videos that are longer, you must request a parter account, which you must pay for and YouTube must accept. When YouTube was launched in 2005 it was possible to upload longer videos, but a ten minute limit was introduced in March 2006 after YouTube found that the majority of videos exceeding this length were unauthorized uploads of television shows and films. YouTube originally offered videos at only one quality level, but now has a range of quality levels as well as a format for viewing on mobile phones. The original format displayed videos at a resolution of 320x240 pixels, however you can now choose from 360p, 480p, 720p, or even 1080p HD support. Also, the YouTube player was changed from a 4:3 aspect ratio to a widescreen 16:9, as well as the option to make it full screen.

One of the key features of YouTube is the ability of users to view its videos on web pages outside the site. Each YouTube video is accompanied by a piece of HTML, which can be used to embed it on a page outside the YouTube website. This functionality is often used to embed YouTube videos in social networking pages, forums, and blogs. YouTube does not usually offer a download link for its videos, and intends that they are viewed through its website. Numerous third-party web sites, applications and browser plug-ins allow users to download YouTube videos. In February 2009, YouTube announced a test service, allowing some partners to offer video downloads for free or for a fee paid through Google Checkout. Other then that downside of not being able to download its videos, another is that you must have Adobe Flash Player to view the videos. To counter this, YouTube is currently testing HTML5 technology, which allows videos to be viewed without requiring Adobe Flash Player or any other plug-in to be installed. The YouTube site has a page which allows supported browsers to join in on the HTML5 trial.

Over the last 5 years of YouTube's existence, it has grown larger then ever imagined, and created a community. P Regular users can connect and keep in touch over YouTube, and try to make their friends laugh. Also, users can make friends over YouTube and you can create groups with other people. You can work together with other users and share an account, and you can have multiple channels. YouTube also offers a great place to get noticed, because millions of videos are watched daily, and you have a good chance of getting tons of views on your videos. opular users have become worldwide superstars, and are now able to make a living off of the videos that they upload to YouTube. Examples are Niga Higa, Smosh, Fred, DaveDays, SMPFilms, KevJumba, WhatTheBuck, VlogBrothers, SxePhil, Tay Zonday, Zack Scott, and more. Also, singers like Justin Bieber and Charlie Puth began their careers by posting their songs on YouTube, and music companies saw their videos and signed them to contracts.

YouTube is the third most popular site on the internet, it has hundreds of millions of users and videos, and has billions of video views. It is the best place to fight boredom, follow your favorite users, get a ood laugh or two, find game walkthroughs and tips, or just enjoy yourself. A world without YouTube, is a sad world indeed.

I hope you enjoyed it!
