Introduction on Laptops:
A laptop is like a miniature desktop computer, a laptop is can fit in your hands, a laptop bag and other small areas. A laptop almost has the same power, without chewing lots of power. It can be used for many things; this includes taking it to school to do work on them, taking them on trips, or just a business person who always travels from one place to another. Laptops also usually have some software on it; however, it is usually on a trial (60 days) or is a starter pack. Overall, a laptop is a mini computer which has the power of a desktop computer, all in the power of your arms.
The Compaq Presario CQ56-109WM Notebook:
This is a wonderful computer. It is cheap, it has every feature that you would want on it, it has a DVD player, it is fun, and it has Windows 7. When you first see this netbook, you would be thinking, this must cost around AU$600-AU$700. However, since the people at HP are awesome, at a great deal, you could get this for around AU$400-AU$500. There are some features, which include Microsoft Office and Norton Security, however, Microsoft Office is just a starter pack and Norton Security is a 60 day trial. Now, I would like to tell you about its hardware.
Hardware:
Amount of Ram: 2GB
Hard Drive: 250GB
Graphics Card: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 4500M
Height: 15.6”
Operating System: Genuine Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Weight: 5.6 pounds.
Processor: 2.20 GHZ / 800MHz FSB/ 1M Cache) Intel Celeron Processor 900
Software:
• Adobe Reader and Flash: This helps a lot when using your computer; you can see flash sites and programs on your computer.
• Windows Live Photo Gallery: This is where you keep all your belonged photos on the computer.
• Cyberlink Power DVD: The DVD player which comes with this type of computer.
• Windows Media Centre: Plays all your movies, TV shows and videos.
• And all the other software which comes with the Windows 7 operating system.
Security:
Like most computers, this laptop has security which helps protect your computer from virus attacks and scams. This laptop has the security features of Windows 7, while adding a 60 day trial to the Norton Online Security pack. This, is what I don’t like about Windows, they NEVER give you free-full version software, you have to pay about $200 for a 1 year subscription, can’t they at least last longer!? But, I’ve had this computer for three months with programs like Frostwire running and I still have no virus, so I am saying the security as a pass.
Multimedia:
The multimedia is the same as all Windows 7 computers; they all have Windows Media Centre and Windows Live Photo Gallery and the likes. However, the DVD player in this computer is a little different to other computers. If for example you have a Toshiba, you’ll have a Toshiba DVD player, in this computer, we have a Cyberlink DVD player. So, overall, the multimedia is the same as most Windows 7 computers, expect the DVD player, which still works well. So I am saying that this computer is a pass.
Overall:
The best laptop that you can get with a low amount of money, it also can do stuff that some computers can’t which costs more. So, you are getting a great quality product at a low price.
